Dot Transportation Wins Private Fleet of the Year Award From FleetOwner

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) was honored by FleetOwner this summer by winning the 2021 FleetOwner Private Fleet of the Year award.

FleetOwner editors select winners of the annual award based on private fleets accomplishments, safety records, technology adoption, community outreach, and other factors,” Josh Fisher wrote in the FleetOwner press release. “Dot took quick action as COVID took over the nation and its leaders realized it had to adapt to keep its freight moving.”

“The nationwide distributor for Dot Foods learned to be even more nimble during a rocky pandemic year, coming out the other end stronger as the country returns to normal,” said Fisher in an additional article highlighting the past year at DTI.

What This Award Means to Dot Foods & Dot Transportation

DTI is extremely honored to receive this award, as it is recognizing the great efforts of our front-line employees and those employees who were working hard behind the scenes to help get us through 2020.

“This award recognized the effort a lot of people made in all departments across Dot—not just DTI,” said DTI President Bryan Langston. “This is recognition for everything we did as an organization to not only mitigate the impact of 2020 to our team, but also to provide food, resources, and other solutions to the communities in need that we serve and live in.”

Not only is senior leadership proud of this accomplishment, but the Dot pride is running deep through all employees—especially our drivers!

“I am proud to play such a vital role,” said Idaho Customer Delivery Specialist Josh Quirk. “Not only with Dot, but in the transportation and delivery of everyone’s everyday needs—FOOD!”

What are the benefits of a family-owned and –operated company?

Working for Dot Foods or Dot Transportation means you’ll be working for a family-owned and –operated company. What does that mean? It means the Tracy family has owned the company since its founding in 1960 and is heavily involved and invested in the company’s and Dot employees’ successes. There is a personal level of accountability—including open-door policies that go all the way up to our CEO—that creates the collaborative, family-like work environment Dot employees know and love today.

What makes Dot Transportation’s fleet the best?

Dot Driver Josh Quirk says it best:

“As a professional driver, we have many struggles and challenges to overcome,” said Quirk. “Dot recognizes that and puts us behind the wheel of the latest and most advanced equipment. They provide us with the best in-house team. They make sure we’re paid for everything we do. [DTI] wants its drivers to be comfortable.”
