Long hours, fatigue, and managing daily stressors can all negatively influence a truck driver’s mental and physical well-being. And while the solace of traveling alone can be enjoyable, it can also take a toll on a person’s welfare. If you or a colleague are dealing with health challenges, Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) provides a variety of driver benefits and resources to help you manage your health.

Benefits Value Advisor (BVA)

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) offers reduced fees on doctor appointments and prescription medication. Plus, if you contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA), you know how easy it is to save for medical costs. A BVA can help you locate a doctor and save money on specific medical tests and procedures—you may even be eligible to earn cash back. Contact the BVA at 866-807-1131 for more information.

Family Health Centers (FHC)

All employees enrolled in Dot’s health insurance have access to local FHCs that are staffed with qualified healthcare providers who will speak to you about your symptoms and concerns and put you on the road to improved health. These centers are conveniently located at multiple Dot Foods distribution center (DC) locations, including Idaho, Indiana, Georgia, Mt. Sterling, and Oklahoma (opening early September).

Free Biometric Screenings

Free biometric screenings are offered to all employees and spouses enrolled in Dot’s insurance. Not only do you receive essential details about your health, but you are also eligible for an incentive after completing a screening and meeting specific health goals. All doctor offices and FHCs can perform a biometric screening. Dot employees can learn more by visiting The Compass or speaking to their HR manager.

MDLIVE & Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

MDLIVE offers the convenience of speaking to a counselor or medical professional through a virtual visit. They can help treat non-emergency medical and pediatric health issues and, when appropriate, even write and send prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy.

This online health service also allows you to participate in counseling sessions through your phone or computer, no matter where you are on the road. To register for MDLIVE, visit their registration page and use your Dot insurance information to enroll. If you are not enrolled in Dot’s health insurance, the EAP can provide support and short-term counseling. You can reach the EAP at 800-356-0845.
