Working at DTI

You’ll find a home at DTI.

From salary, benefits and weekly home time right down to the equipment you drive, Dot Transportation offers you a great lifestyle and job security. Ask a Dot driver – you’ll learn why so many make a career at Dot Transportation.

Compensation & Benefits

Our first year drivers average $50,000 and after the first year, our drivers average about $65,000. In addition to Pay, we provide a benefits package worth more than $20,000, including medical/dental/vision insurance, vacation and sick days, 401K with company match, disability and life insurance, profit sharing – plus tuition reimbursement for driver training school.

Lifestyle & Home Time

We’re family-owned and understand the importance of family. Our drivers get home an average of 2 or 3 times a week. And since all our runs are round-trip dispatch, you won’t suffer through long layovers. You’ll be treated with kindness and respect – and we’ll get to know your family too. At DTI, you’re never just a number!

Orientation & Training

All new DTI drivers spend their first week in the classroom. If you are just out of driving school, you’ll spend 6-8 weeks driving with one of our senior trainers until you have a thorough understanding of the job. While in training, new drivers earn $500 a week, plus meals. Drivers with over 200,000 miles of confirmed experience are compensated $1,000 per week of orientation and training.

Safety

We take your safety seriously. We teach the Smith System of driver safety and have quarterly safety meetings. DTI is an industry leader in lack of personal injury to our drivers. We’re proud to say our drivers rank in the top 20% nationally in 6 of the 7 key safety categories and are in the top 35% of the other.

Equipment & Technology

Dot Transportation drivers have assigned equipment – and it is among the finest on the road: late-model Volvo® conventionals with stand-up sleepers, 430 hp. engines, autoshift transmission, cruise, and engine brakes. We keep our fleet spotless with regular washes, and maintain it with our own staff of trained mechanics.
