“A Trucker’s Weight Loss Journey” is a three-part video series on truck driver health. Check out part two below. You can find part two and part three on our Driven blog as well.

Meet Steve, a Dot Driver Trainer

Driver Trainer Steve Foster has lost 65 pounds over a two-year period by changing his lifestyle. Follow along for the next couple of weeks to see how he did it. Here’s our first part of Steve’s story.

“Being a driver on the road is hard enough on your health and on your life, so I figured out a way that would benefit my health and improve my life while I’m on the road,” says Steve.

According to a study by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, obesity in truck drivers is more than twice as high as the rest of the U.S. workforce. Steve is just one driver looking to change those numbers and encourage health in the truck drivers he meets.

Truck Drivers and Men’s Health Month

June is National Men’s Health Month. It’s a month dedicated to bringing awareness to men’s health concerns and addressing preventable health problems through behavior changes, early detection and screening, and treatment.

At Dot, we know it can be challenging to stay healthy as a truck driver. A truck driver lifestyle can be difficult to maintain. But we know how important it is to prioritize the health of our drivers, whether it’s through supportive Driver Trainers like Steve or even through helpful blogs on Driven.
